Medication Management Online Learning (Part 1): During the online learning modules of the course, students will learn proper medication administration and record keeping. Completion of the online learning portion of the course is required before a student may attend their first Medication Management review day or testing day. Bremo course administrators will be verifying this when students arrive for these two days. Students are also encouraged to study outside of classroom time. Our workbook provides helpful details, illustrations, and practice examples for each of the task areas.
Medication Management Review Day (Part 2): The first in-person day of training begins with reviewing the online learning modules with practice warm up exercises in medication management. Students practice administering medications and keeping appropriate records, under the supervision of our facility trainer. This day gives the opportunity for students to ask questions and get help from our course instructor. Students will also cover training on the diabetes module with covers basic facts about diabetes, treatment and management options, as well as monitoring for high and low blood sugar. Students will learn how to perform a finger stick blood glucose test, and how to draw up and inject insulin.
Medication Management Testing Day (Part 3): The second in-person day of class, students will demonstrate competency in each task area by performing a skills check demonstration, as well as a written test. Students who do not pass all areas may schedule make up testing for focused task areas up to three times. Those who do not pass on their fourth attempt will be required to repeat Medication Management Classes Parts I & II. Students have one year from the date of receiving the online learning modules to complete the entire course.
