At Bremo Pharmacy, We Offer:

HIV & HCV Testing

Bremo Pharmacy, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Health, offers free testing services for two significant global health concerns: Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Hepatitis C Virus (HCV). These chronic viral infections affect millions of people worldwide and early detection is key to managing these conditions effectively. With our new testing services, we aim to make a positive contribution to the community’s health and wellbeing, while also raising awareness about these two pervasive diseases.

Bone Density / Osteoporosis Screening — $30

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes weak or broken bones as we get older, and women are at the greatest risk. Fortunately, lifestyle changes including exercise and correct calcium intake can help prevent osteoporosis from occurring.

A bone density scan at Bremo Pharmacy can help identify if you are at risk for, or already have, osteoporosis. Be proactive in your healthcare and get screened for osteoporosis today for only $30.

High Blood Pressure Heart Health Screening — $5

One in four Americans has high blood pressure – And half of them don’t even know it. Uncontrolled, it can lead to stroke, heart attack, kidney damage, and other serious issues. High blood pressure usually has no symptoms. The only way to know if you have high blood pressure is to get checked regularly. Our professional pharmacists make it quick and easy at just $5.

24-Hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring — $75

Bremo Pharmacy offers 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). ABPM is revolutionizing the way pharmacists and physicians manage hypertension and vascular disease. Regular periodic recorded data gives your healthcare provider the most accurate, detailed picture possible of a patient’s blood pressure situation.

Potential outcomes that you and your provider may consider after your 24-hour blood pressure monitoring results:
• Optimize your medication therapy to minimize your risk for side effects like hypotension
• Replace a medication in your regimen to better target your blood pressure concerns
• Reduce the number of medications needed to keep your blood pressure under control
• Give you a more accurate diagnosis of your white coat or masked hypertension

Screening for Cholesterol Disorders — $35

Do you know your cholesterol level? It’s time to get checked. According to the American Heart Association, everyone over 20 years old should have his or her cholesterol checked at least every five years. Controlling your cholesterol through lifestyle choices or medications helps reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. Accurate testing requires you abstain from food prior to your cholesterol test, so it’s best to coordinate with one of our pharmacists. Contact us today to schedule your full cholesterol profile for only $35.

Food Sensitivity Testing — Price Varies

Sometimes certain foods can make you feel unwell, regardless if they’re healthy or not.  They may trigger any number of food sensitivity symptoms such as headaches, digestive issues, joint pain or skin problems.  Food sensitivities are largely undiagnosed and seem to be on the rose.  While they are clearly less scary than a full-blown food allergy, these mysterious and highly individualistic conditions can still make us sick.  Bremo uses US Biotek lab for our food sensitivity testing and specifically measures your response to IgG cells only to give you results of food sensitivities you might have, but does not test for food allergies or food intolerance.  Contact us today to learn more or schedule your food sensitivity test.

Diabetes A1C Test— $30.00

Have you had any of these symptoms?
  • Frequent urination
  • Excessive thirst
  • Extreme hunger
  • Unusual weight loss
  • Increased fatigue
  • Irritability
  • Blurry vision

If you have one or more of these symptoms, you should come in to get screened for diabetes. We can check your blood sugar levels and assess your risk level for diabetes. Lifestyle choices can help reduce the risk of diabetes, especially the most common form: Type 2 Diabetes.

Accurate testing requires you abstain from food prior to your blood sugar test, so it’s best to coordinate with one of our pharmacists. Contact us today to schedule your A1C test.

Pharmacogenetic Testing

This test, only needed once-in-a-lifetime, gives you pertinent information to ensure you are prescribed the most effective and safest medication. It is based on your ability to metabolize over 600 different medications by testing a panel of 32 pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic genes. Understanding how you metabolize medications and gene/drug interactions can help your physician and pharmacist monitor for efficacy and adverse effects and provide insight into potential therapy modifications.

Contact Bremo Pharmacy 804-288-8361 ext 119.

  • We will request an order from your physician which allows us to perform the PGx test.
  • When the results arrive, expect a communication from us that contains our recommendations for modifications (if necessary) based on our medication management efforts and answer any questions you might have during a consultation.
  • We will facilitate communication with your physician if therapy modifications are recommended.
